POSITION OVERVIEW AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position primarily leads in the operation of the Department’s Information Security Program, including the monitoring of events and activities affecting the network and all other resources (onsite and cloud resources). This role helps ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to reduce, eliminate, or recover from identified threats and risks to the Department’s data and information resources. This position performs technical and non-technical duties relative to the maintenance of organizational information security. Below includes, but not limited to this position’s duties and responsibilities:
PAY:
Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, ranging from $50,584.68 to $65,000.04, annually.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform hands-on configuration and troubleshooting of networking and network security components;
- Monitoring network and network devices;
- Responding to network attacks against perimeter infrastructure;
- Develop and maintain traffic routing strategies to mitigate attack impact;
- Contribute to the design, development and maintenance of the company’s network security environment, to ensure efficient and secure information flow;
- Lead and assist in troubleshooting service degradations, network, and security-related issues;
- Be aware of new vulnerabilities and evolving attack methods, and constantly work to counteract potential threats;
- Administration of security network and applications;
- Administer internal network security compliance activities and other relevant cybersecurity programs;
- Coordinate with the Department’s Information Security Manager (ISM) to implement industry and agency security policies;
- Provide assistance and recommendations associated with cybersecurity response procedures;
- Collaborate with the Florida Digital Service (FDS) and their Cybersecurity Operations Center (CSOC) on security related events and incidents, this includes serving as the point of contract for CSOC engagements;
- Assist with security compliance audits to verify completeness of required configurations and verify system hardening;
- Develop, execute, and maintain security system fault management support procedures for assigned systems;
- Receive, prioritize, diagnose, research, document, and resolve service requests for hardware, software, applications, peripherals, account creation and/or deletion, and network connectivity for in-office and mobile staff;
- Configure and setup hardware, software, peripherals, network connectivity, and install specialty applications/software (as necessary) for in-office and mobile staff;
- Configure, setup, and support in-office and mobile telephonic software and devices;
- Responsible for installation of new desktops, relocation of existing desktops, completion of installation/relocation paperwork, following standards for desktop software and tracking of licensed products. Formulate, coordinate, and ensure standards for desktop hardware and software. This includes creating and managing images and task sequences in System Center (SCCM);
- Effectively demonstrate commitment to the Enterprise Systems Support team by engaging in open communication, sharing job and task knowledge with team members, taking initiative to help resolve recurring issues, working productively, and maintaining a high quality of work;
- Continuously seek an advanced level of understanding of the Department’s current and future technologies to better use and administer current and future technology services;
- Document current and future processes that impact technology operations and services. Share created documentation to a central repository for use by other members of Information Systems;
- Suggest procedural changes – if applicable – to improve operations specific to Information Systems;
- Continuously evaluate and improve efficiency of technology resources;
- Perform related work as required.
