Videographer and Photographer within the Digital Communications Team

 

As a videographer and photographer in the Digital Communications Team, you produce captivating visual content for online platforms while also supporting the Communications Office. The individual is responsible for operating and setting up production equipment during events or live video production, capturing high-quality footage by framing shots, adjusting camera settings, and collaborating with the director and other team members to achieve the desired visual aesthetic; key aspects include a keen eye for detail, strong technical knowledge of production equipment, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. 

 

Key responsibilities of a videographer and photographer might include:

Camera setup and operation:

Taking photos, setting up lights and camera positions, selecting appropriate lenses and filters, adjusting camera settings like aperture, shutter speed, and ISO to achieve desired exposure. 

Shot composition:

Framing shots creatively, considering the subject, background, and overall visual impact of the scene. 

Following camera directions:

Accurately executing camera movements and angles as directed by the director of photography (DP). 

Maintaining camera equipment:

Inspecting and cleaning camera gear, ensuring proper functionality and reporting any issues. 

Collaboration with team:

Communicating effectively with the DP, director, lighting technicians, and other team members to coordinate camera placement and movements. 

Data management:

Downloading and properly labeling footage, editing and managing camera data storage. 

Technical knowledge:
In-depth understanding of camera operation, lens selection, and various camera settings. 
Visual awareness:
Excellent eye for composition, framing, and visual storytelling. 
Communication skills:
Clear communication with the director and other crew members to ensure smooth production flow. 
Physical ability:
Ability to travel work on location throughout Florida, carry up to 50 pounds of equipment, and potentially operate cameras in challenging conditions. 
Adaptability:
Flexibility to quickly adjust to changing situations and unexpected challenges during filming.
