This position provides Information Technology (IT) safeguard to the organization's data, systems, and assets by identifying and mitigating risks associated with compliance requirements of the Office of the State Courts Administrator. This position is a key part of the cybersecurity governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) program. Position identifies compliance requirements for Office of Information Technology contractual agreements and OSCA data sharing agreements or memorandum of understanding.

 

Examples of Work Performed

Engages in security governance initiatives, overseeing compliance and monitoring the progress of risk-oriented security assessments for various elements, including technologies, systems, processes, and other components within both IT and business domains.

Participates in the review and update of security policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards.

Ensures the proper allocation of compliance resources for each audit, holding overall accountability for the successful completion of compliance monitoring activities and audits. Conducts and oversees audits within predefined time frames.

Retains a thorough understanding of security-related standards and guidelines set by agreements, contracts, State and Federal regulatory agencies, that is, ). Offers policy guidance and support for the Office of the State Courts Administrator based on this knowledge.

Coordinates the approvals of policies and agreements to ensure compliance.

Collaborates with internal and external operational partners to for audit reviews while overseeing the entire audit life cycle.

Assist with the achievement of security reviews and audits while tracking organizational compliance with regulatory standards and information security policy leveraging GRC software solutions.

Assist in the development and delivery of user training, security awareness programs and security documentation such as policies, standards, and operating procedures.

Analyze organization's cyber defense policies and configurations and evaluate compliance with regulations and organizational directives.

Maintain a compliance repository for OIT contacts and OSCA data sharing agreements.

 

Education and Training Guidelines:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, management information systems, or a closely related field; and

Two years of related experience.

Additional relevant experience may substitute for the recommended educational level on a year-for-year basis.

Additional relevant education may substitute for the recommended experience on a year-for-year basis, excluding supervisory experience.

 

Competencies:

Knowledge of compliance and audit or risk management experience using standard methodologies, such as CJIS and NIST principles.

Demonstrates knowledge in security auditing or compliance management, systems analysis, and vendor or customer interactions.

Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Ability to review security assessments or audits with stakeholders and develop recommendations for improvements.

Ability to multi-task with a calm demeanor and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Skilled in attention to detail and excellent problem-solving.

 

Special Comments:

Desirable working knowledge of governance, risk, and compliance management software and processes. Previous experience with CJIS controls, readiness, and compliance. Previous experience interpreting, writing, and assessing rules, data sharing agreements and frameworks.
