Job Description
Position is eligible for full-time remote work.
The essential function of the position within the organization is to provide development, maintenance, installation, configuration, performance tuning, technical support, and analysis. The position is responsible for developing, designing, testing, implementing, and maintaining computer applications/systems; providing data and reports; analyzing the technical feasibility of proposed system projects; resolving complex software problems; developing new productivity tools and methodologies; and providing production support. The position works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.
Examples of Work
Analyzes computer application requirements and the technical feasibility of proposed projects.
Assists with improving and expanding Court Application Processing Systems (CAPS).
Develops, designs, tests, implements, and maintains computer applications, designs, and documents databases.
Provides enhancements and maintenance for existing computer system applications, resolving complex software problems.
Collaborate with the team or other developers to ensure assigned project activities or related tasks for development or defects are on track.
Develops new productivity tools and methodologies; creates custom reports as requested; and codes applications programs.
Consults with users regarding computer application requirements to ensure efficient operations for areas of responsibility; responds to questions and concerns of users in the justice community concerning computer applications.
Develops and updates instructions for use of computer applications; provides technical training for applications end-users; and assists staff with technical problems.
Examines and analyzes data entered in the computer applications to ensure the data meets database requirements.
Collaborates with other agencies and departments on technical projects; prepares clear and detailed instructions for use of computer applications.
Ensures compliance with applicable policies, procedures, regulations, and laws in the performance of technical tasks.
Adheres to Information Systems Development Methodology (ISDM) and project management documentation requirements as adopted by the OSCA Office of Information Technology (OIT).
Ensures that design and implementation procedures make use of appropriate information engineering principles under the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework as adopted by the OSCA Office of Information Technology (OIT), including OIT production change management, release management, and service management.
Attends or conducts staff or other professional meetings to exchange information.
Attends technical classes, workshops, or seminars to improve technical skills.
Education and Training Guidelines

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, management information systems, or a
closely related field.
Experience: Refers to the amount of related work experience that is recommended for entry into the position that would result in reasonable expectation that the person can perform the required tasks.
Additional relevant education may substitute for the recommended experience on a year-for-year basis, excluding supervisory experience.
Two to three years of related work experience.
Competencies
Knowledge of the LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP).
Knowledge of AJAX, JavaScript, JSON, jQuery, React.
Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and XML.
Knowledge of Source control Git or TFS.
Knowledge of SQL and relational databases (MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle).
Knowledge of SOA, Microservices.
Knowledge of Active Directory (including Azure Entra) authentication.
Knowledge of application design, development, testing, documentation, and implementation.
Knowledge of relational database design Knowledge of information systems development and resources.
Knowledge of cloud technologies.
Knowledge of Object-Oriented programming principles and best practices.
Knowledge of agile application development techniques.

Special Comments
This is a technical position within fast-paced team focused on LAMP stack development.
The position is for performing new development and maintaining current systems working with some of the modern development technologies.
Preference will be given to the applicants with the following: Professional work experience developing PHP or .NET applications in the last 3 years. Professional work experience developing, using relational databases (MySQL, Oracle and/or SQL Server) in the last 5 years. Knowledge and experience in LAMP stack, Frameworks (Laravel/Symfony/Entity/MVC). Knowledge and experience with enterprise architecture, cloud technologies, and cross-platform integration.
Please include in your application all professional application development experience and any course work related to software development. Qualifications and experience will be considered for the salary.
