INTRODUCTORY STATEMENT: The Office of the Attorney General, Department of Legal Affairs (OAG) is a pre-eminent, constitutional office, which serves as the chief lawyer to all state agencies and provides legal protections for Floridians against fraud and through the enforcement of the state’s laws. The OAG, is a cabinet agency in the executive branch of Florida state government.

OAG employees are paid biweekly.  All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: A bachelor’s degree in business administration, information technology or a related field and 3 years of work experience in the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of information technology processes.  OR 7 years of related work experience in the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of information technology processes.

 

JOB SUMMARY:   This position is located in the Information Technology Unit.  We are searching for an experienced Information Technology Analyst who can gather important Agency data and compile it into reports stakeholders and senior management members can use. We need someone who can take charge of assigned tasks and deliver results that will ensure we progress in an organized manner as we move towards modern Information Technology. Our ideal candidate has the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and translate business data into digestible information that improves processes.

KSA/EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

· Collaborate with project sponsors to determine project scope and vision. 

· Clearly identify project stakeholders and establish user classes, as well as their characteristics. 

· Conduct interviews to gather user requirements via workshops, questionnaires, surveys, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other methods. Conclude with documenting and presenting the interview results. 

· Identify and establish scope and parameters of requirements analysis on a project-by-project basis to define project impact, outcome criteria, and metrics. 

· Work with stakeholders and project team to prioritize collected requirements. 

· Assist in conducting research on software and hardware products to meet agreed upon requirements and to support purchasing efforts. 

· Participate in the quality assurance (QA) of purchased solutions to ensure features and functions have been enabled and optimized. 

· Analyze and verify requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to standards. 

· Develop and utilize standard templates to accurately and concisely write requirements specifications. 

· Translate conceptual user requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers/project team. 

· Where applicable, develop prototypes of interfaces and attributes based on the user requirements. 

· Create process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to developers and/or the project team. 

· Develop and conduct peer reviews of the business requirements to ensure that requirement specifications are correctly interpreted. 

· Assist with the interpretation of user requirements into feasible options and communicate back to the project stakeholders. 

· Manage and track the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle; enforce and redefine as necessary. 

· Communicate changes, enhancements, and modifications of business requirements – verbally or through written documentation – to project managers, sponsors, and other stakeholders so that issues and solutions are understood. 

· Stay up-to-date on the latest processes and IT advancements to automate and modernize systems. 

· Effectively communicating insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management. 

· Ensure solutions meet business needs and requirements. 

· Perform user acceptance testing. 

· Prioritize initiatives based on business needs and requirements. 

· Serve as a liaison between the various stakeholders. 

· Understand and document business processes and workflows and their relationships to current and future software solutions.  

· Define use cases to articulate new functional software needs and the roles of each class of application user.  

· Analyze the impact of change requests. 

· Support traceability from requirements through to QA; assist in the definition of test plans and testing strategies; and in the creation of test cases.  

· Develop comprehensive test cases at the application and multi-application levels.  

· Determine and document user requirements for business processes and abide by those requirements for future projects. 

· Process change requests. 

· Assist in the design, documentation, and maintenance of system processes. 

· Suggest changes to supervisor using analytics to support your recommendations. 

· Actively participate in the implementation of approved changes. 

· Develop design requirements; constructing workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specifications. 

· Monitor project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions. 

· Maintain system protocols by writing and updating procedures.
