Your Specific Responsibilities:

  • Participate in and coordinate Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions with development teams to represent the interests of business stakeholders and subject matter experts (SMEs) as assigned. Participation includes providing accurate answers to questions regarding intended software functionality. SMEs may be end-users, IT technical staff, HMS practice management team members and HMS clinical team members. Facilitate business requirements gathering sessions with SMEs as assigned, including analysis. Ensure a defined agenda is communicated to participants, ensures a common understanding of terms and definitions, synthesize ideas, track discussions, and provide clear summaries of the discussion and decisions in oral and written form using Microsoft Office tools.
  • Perform validation of documented business requirements against business processes as assigned. Perform verification of developed software against business requirements and technical specifications assigned through User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Define and document functional specifications and software test plans as assigned utilizing Microsoft Office software and the department's change and configuration management system.
  • Identify, document, and submit opportunities for improving the efficiency of workflows represented within the software and increasing ease of software enhancements as assigned. Identified opportunities must be documented using Microsoft Office and the Department's change and configuration management system. Prepare and submit end user documentation using Microsoft Office software as assigned for training and assistance including release documentation, process flows, and help screens. Prepare documentation of application change requests utilizing the department's change and configuration management system as assigned by the Department.
  • Provide support daily for the Department's electronic health record and patient portal, related systems and downstream consumers of Department data as directed by the Department. Support requires providing answers to inquiries via email and phone, researching user inquiries, documentation of software issues in the Department's change and configuration management system and logging the user interaction in the customer ticketing system. Related systems are those that receive or provide data to the HMS. Downstream consumers are those that receive data from the HMS indirectly (not via established electronic interfaces).
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Proficient computer skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; knowledge of monitoring processes and/or working with ticketing software; knowledge of computer data bases; knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures and government rules & regulations; knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar; understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents; communicating effectively with others verbally and in writing; talking to others to effectively convey information; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; listening to what other people are saying and asking questions as appropriate; conduct fact-finding research; knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis; organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials; knowing how to find information and identifying essential information; finding ways to structure or classify multiple pieces of information; ability to plan, organize and prioritize work assignments; ability to work independently; ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy and close attention to detail; ability to maintain confidentiality; knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of software configuration and release management; knowledge of software architecture, analysis, design, coding and testing; knowledge of computer programming languages; ability to write, code, test and debug computer programs; ability to communicate technical data processing information effectively

 

Qualifications:

  • Preferred:
    • An associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field of study; AND 
    • At least two (2) years of professional experience in an Information Technology related role to include process documentation; troubleshooting; technical support.
  • Minimum:
    • At least four (4) years of professional experience in an Information Technology related role to include process documentation; troubleshooting; technical support.
