SPECIAL NOTES:

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.

 

Requirement:

  • Six (6) months or more experience in the Insurance field or adjusting liability claims.

 

Additional Preferences:

  • Experience working with any risk management information system and/or any software programs designed to assist in the adjusting of property and liability claims.
  • Six (6) months of experience with answering phone calls and providing information to callers.

 

This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.

 

Work hours are 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM.

 

This position will be filled at $43,260.00

 

Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Ability to investigate liability insurance claims.  Knowledge of good investigative techniques and knowledge of case law.  Ability to review and process provider bills.  Ability to use a 10-key adding machine.  Ability to enter, retrieve and maintain data in a computer system.  Ability to review and properly categorize insurance claims. Knowledge of the principles of risk management and insurance. Ability to make appropriate decisions about insurance claims. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work activities. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Ability to establish effective working relationships with others.

 

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

This is a claim adjusting position. The primary duties and responsibilities of this position are to investigate, evaluate and resolve liability claims which are filed against the state and its employees
