JOB SUMMARY:
This is a Systems Programmer I position with the Department of Revenue’s (DOR) Information Services Program (ISP). The primary duties of this position are to:
analyze software requirements and existing systems to design solutions for new applications or system modifications.
develop new applications and enhancements/corrections to existing applications based on specifications.
consults and performs peer programming with other team members.
performs independent research and consults with enterprise architects, analysts and programmers in the design, selection, and implementation of technical solutions.
performs unit testing and code reviews of standards for build or modifications of DOR software applications.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least four years of experience in the last six years as a developer/programmer.
- Experience writing code documentation and troubleshooting errors.
SUBSTITUTIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in computer science, computer programming, or a similar degree program can substitute for four (4) years of the required experience.
- Completion of a one-year program of study from a vocational/technical school or college/university in an area of cloud computing can substitute for one (1) year of the required experience.
- Completion of a Microsoft Azure Cloud, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Google Cloud certificate can substitute for one (1) year of the required experience.
PREFERENCES:
- Experience using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
- Experience in development with T-SQL, C#, MVC, Bootstrap
- Knowledgeable of relational database concepts
- Proficiency in written and oral communication skills (i.e., correct grammar, punctuation, spelling, and organization of content)
- Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills
- Experience in requirements gathering.
- Experience on projects and/or teams using Agile, Scrum, or Kanban
- Experience with Visual Studio
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
- Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub, or other version control tools
- Experience with Azure App Services, Azure Active Directory
SPECIAL NOTES:
- This is a full-time position headquartered at 2450 Shumard Oak Blvd, Tallahassee, FL.
- This position is not eligible for telework
- This position works in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities. The ability to work in this environment is a must.
- Work hours are generally 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. You may also be periodically required to work beyond normal work hours, including weekends.
- Workstations are in an open area where there are interruptions throughout the day. You will be expected to handle these interruptions and maintain your responsibilities.
SALARY: $47,547.60 - $48,999.96.
