$75,000.00 - $85,000.00 Annually $2,884.61 - $3,269.23 Bi-weekly
Position Summary
Under direct supervision of the Audit Director, this position is responsible for performing and reporting on information technology, compliance, and performance audits, assisting in investigations, conducting internal control reviews, performing program evaluations, and conducting other special projects. This position may require some travel.
The Work You Will Do
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AUDITS
· Plan and conduct internal information technology audits and other engagements in accordance with auditing standards.
· Perform preliminary survey activities. This includes review of programs, systems, controls, records, policies, procedures, performance measures or activities within the assigned audit.
· Develop and recommend project audit objectives and scopes based upon relevant information technology and cybersecurity standards and guidelines.
· Develop detailed tests to be performed.
· Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of the management controls over organizational and functional activities.
· Conduct assessments of compliance with statutes, rules, guidelines, policies, and procedures.
· Prepare working papers documenting methods and results following the Office of Inspector General’s policies and procedures.
· Prepare reports presenting clear and concise findings, conclusions, and recommendations to improve APD operations.
· Escalate issues of non-compliance to management, if necessary.
· Conduct post-assignment follow-up to appraise the adequacy of management remediation actions.
· Perform follow-up activities on open internal and/or external IT audit findings and prepare reports to management.
Assist with external audit liaison duties as needed.
Assist with administrative investigations and complaints as needed.
Conduct periodic information technology risk assessments in accordance with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Guide for Conducting Information Security Risk Assessments.
Conduct research for and prepare briefs for OIG/APD management.
Conduct special projects as assigned by the Audit Director or the Inspector General.
Perform other duties as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting, business administration, business management, computer science or related field is required.
- Two years of experience in an Inspector General’s office, an Internal Audit office, or an External Audit office is required.
- Two years of professional working experience conducting IT audit engagements is required.
- A master’s degree from an accredited college or university or possession of a CPA, CIA, CISA, or Certified Inspector General Auditor certificate can substitute for one year of the required experience.
- Experience writing audit findings and reports is required. Experience with the following applications is required: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe.
- Must have valid drivers license or other efficient means of transportation.
- Possession of a certified public accountant license (CPA) issued pursuant to Chapter 473, Florida Statutes, Certified internal audit certificate (CIA) issued by the Institute of Internal Auditors, and/or a certified information systems auditor certificate, (CISA) issued by the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) is preferred, but not required.

- National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) security standards.
- Computer systems analysis, design and associated techniques.

- IT and financial controls and related standards.

- Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and Adobe.
- Accounting and auditing principles and procedures.
- International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and Government Auditing Standards, the Principles and Standards for Offices of Inspector General issued by the Association of Inspectors General, and the Information Systems Audit and Control Association’s Standards.
- Methods of compiling and analyzing data. · Knowledge of basic mathematics.

Background Screening Requirement
