General Summary

The Florida Senate Information Technology Office (Senate IT) is looking for an experienced User Experience Designer/Developer to join a fast-paced and innovative team. Someone who enjoys learning and executing on industry best practices as well as exercising their creative energy on a daily basis. 


Senate IT has the right mix of engineering challenges while ensuring a healthy work-life balance.

Examples of Work Performed

  • Become a primary driver of the UX design of the next wave of Senate IT products
  • Be passionate about making difficult tasks into simple and effective experiences for customers
  • Maintaining and improving existing web applications
  • Help deliver on the most challenging aspects of UX implementation details
  • Work in a collaborative, agile environment

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience designing for different platforms (desktop, web, mobile applications)
  • Experience defining UX design for complex workflows and/or for technical end users
  • Strong knowledge of user experience principles and techniques
  • Experience with Bootstrap and Angular 12+
  • Experience with HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, JQuery, JSON, WebAPI
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely, both verbal and written
  • Ability to lead brainstorming sessions and design reviews
  • Ability to adjust to rapidly changing user requirements
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to multitask
  • Familiarity with Object Oriented Principles and Design
  • An appetite for continuous learning

Minimum Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, management information systems, mathematics, or engineering. 


Progressively responsible information systems experience can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education. 


Any combination of progressively responsible information systems experience and post-secondary training in disciplines as described above totaling four years.


Commensurate with experience.
