WORKING TITLE: LABOR RELATIONS SPECIALIST

 

This open competitive advertisement is for an OPS (Other Personal Services) position located at Central Office in Labor Relations.

 

As someone working in labor relations, our mission is to foster a positive and collaborative work environment by ensuring fair treatment, open communication, and mutual respect between employees and management. We strive to resolve conflicts, negotiate agreements, and uphold labor laws to create a harmonious and productive workplace.

 

This position is not a Telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Support Labor Relations functions, including grievances, procedures, handbook, and internship program.
  • Assist with research and preparation of collective bargaining information and grievance responses.
  • Maintain grievance filing system and prepare reports on department databases.
  • Collaborate with HR personnel and stay updated on HR changes, policies, and union contracts.
  • Interpret policies and procedures, assist HR Administration Front Office, and perform other duties as assigned.

OPS employees who work an average of 30 hours or more per week are eligible to enroll in state group insurance plans. Standard PPO/HMO Options include:

    • Employee Only: $25 biweekly
    • Spouse Program: $15 biweekly
    • Employee & Family: $90 biweekly.

  • Retirement - As an OPS employee, the Florida FICA Alternative Plan with Corebridge Financial affords you an excellent opportunity to help accumulate money for a secure retirement. You contribute 7.5% of your compensation to this tax deferred plan. All OPS employees are required to participate in this plan and are automatically enrolled.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in Human Resources or professional office settings, involving the preparation and tracking of letters, legal documents, and other similar correspondence. Educational qualifications can be substituted for experience at a rate of 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours per year.
  • Experience analyzing and researching information to prepare for official documents.
