**This position is being reclassified to a Leadership Development and Training Specialist position.**

 

The Department of Children and Families’ Workforce Learning and Development Team within the Office of Quality and Innovation seeks an energetic, highly organized, critical thinker with background and experience in training and leadership to serve as a Leadership Development and Training Specialist.  This position is responsible for the planning, coordination, delivery of leadership and professional development training programs and academies across the state. This role supports both in-person and virtual training offerings and ensures high-quality learning experiences for all participants.  This position is also responsible for supporting staff that participate in their program’s career ladder.  This position requires routine travel throughout the state. 

   

Minimum Requirements: 

  • At least two years’ experience in a training environment, training and facilitating adult learners in a classroom environment 
  • Experience facilitating virtual training sessions using Microsoft Teams 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills 
  • Ability to travel across the state to deliver necessary trainings at least one week a month 
  • Ability to manage competing priorities 

 

Additional Qualifications Preferred: 

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • Certification in training delivery or facilitation (e.g., ATD, Langevin, etc.). 
  • Experience coordinating large-scale or statewide training programs. 
  • Experience researching, developing, or delivering leadership academies or leadership development programs 
  • Familiarity with state government processes and administrative procedures. 
  • Experience with working multiple projects at one time and prioritizing efforts to ensure all tasks are completed timely 
  • Experience in building and sustaining relationships with peers and leadership teams 
  • Experience in coordinating events and presenters, securing space(s) to conduct meetings, completing travel authorizations and invites, disseminating materials, collecting feedback, and providing on-going communication with participants and stakeholders 
  • Experience in dealing with change management and making recommendations on ways to pivot with little disruption and positive outlook 

  

 Primary duties include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Plans, coordinates and travels the state to train leadership and professional development trainings and academies offered by Workforce Learning and Development across the state to include but no limited to; coordination of training space, completion of travel authorizations, sending notifications to learners and leadership about trainings, creation of training course offerings, registering employees for courses, facilitation of training, and providing course credit for learners in the learning management system (LMS). 
  • Services as a Career Ladder (CL) Professional Development Specialist which includes but is not limited to; completing one-on-one meetings with interested participants identifying CL individual development plan; adding participants in the CLIMB system and assigning required courses, providing training on CLIMB system to participants, approving course credit within CLIMB system; ensuring that all requirements have been met and completing a Request for Personnel Action for cost increases to Human Resources.
  • Gathers feedback from attendees after each professional development session offered by Workforce Learning and Development through surveys and acts as a training Subject Matter Expert (SME) for recommending changes to current Workforce Learning and Development professional development offerings based on feedback gathered. 
  • Supports the change management process through communication, and championing of new initiatives and policy changes. 
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
