This position will manage assigned locally funded agreement financial provisions, calculate project costs and perform monthly draws.  Also will reconcile accounts receivable, invoice, record payments and assists in processing journal transfers.

Anticipated Salary:

Your Specific Responsibilities:

Establish and manage assigned Locally Funded Agreement (LFA) accounts to ensure adherence to financial provisions of the agreement. Duties include, but are not limited to: timely calculating project costs and performing monthly draws from escrow, ensuring proper revenue allocation and processing cost transfers, maintaining adequate security balance in escrow to ensure funds on deposit are sufficient to cover costs, closing projects and processing refunds timely, coordinating with project managers to ensure project programming is appropriate, assisting with training district personnel on LF processes and procedures, and reviewing and updating the processing list.

 

Assist in reconciling receivable and other financial transactions between the department's Accounts Receivable Invoicing (ARI) system, the department's work program Financial Management system, the state's accounting system FLAIR, and escrow statements from the State Treasury.

 

Assist in reviewing LFAs and other financial agreements, establishing and maintaining payment schedules, and timely invoicing and collection of payments.

 

Assist in processing journal transfers, FLAIR accounting entries, and year-end financial reporting.

 

 

The Successful Candidate will have the following required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

Knowledge of:

  • Ability to interpret and apply accounting and auditing theory, standards, practices, and procedures.

Skills in:

  • Balancing and reconciling accounts.
  • Efficient and effective use of computer applications including Microsoft Office products.

Ability to:

  • Organize, maintain, review, analyze, evaluate, and report financial data. 
  • Communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Plan, organize and conduct work activities independently and with minimal supervisor.
  • Exercise proper judgment.
  • Work well with others.
  • Perform duties under pressure and time constraints and meet deadlines.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Four years of work-related experience in an accounting or auditing field, or a college degree in a business-related field can be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
