The Work You Will Do:

Conduct policy and technical analysis to support the Department’s statewide corridor planning program.  Manage the Strategic Intermodal System (SIS).  Manage programs and activities related to highway system access management.  Provide policy directions for the Shared Use Non-motorized trail (SUN trail).

 

This position will be responsible for Managing the Systems Implementation Office related to FDOT’s workforce.

Your Specific Responsibilities:

Conduct policy and technical analysis to support the Department's statewide corridor planning program. Provide support to Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Districts on planning products required for the project development process. Coordinate statewide planning guidelines and working with modal offices for multi-modal planning implementation activities.

 

Leads, manages, and directs the operations of the Systems Implementation Office, as carried out by the Section Managers. This position serves as a policy advisor to FDOT management on critical issues and reviewing legislation and policy issues that may affect the department and the Strategic Intermodal System.

 

Manage the implementation of the Strategic Intermodal System (SIS). Responsibilities include development of the SIS policy plan, the on-going implementation of the Strategic Intermodal System Five and Ten Year Work Program, multi-modal Cost Feasible Plan and the Long Range Needs Plan. Provide leadership on the selection and prioritization of projects that provide for mobility of people and freight. Provide briefings and updates on the plans and projects to FDOT management using a number of different methods including Geographic Information Systems (GIS) mapping, reports, power point presentations, social media and publications.

 

Manage programs and activities related to highway system access management; highway system operating level of service; congestion management; managed lanes; interchange justifications and corridor studies. Oversee the development, training and dissemination of policy, technical procedures and guidelines and administrative procedures for implementation of the aforementioned statewide programs. Oversee the development of transportation planning handbooks, manuals and guidelines, and provide specialized technical expertise and training to FDOT districts, Freight, Logistics and Passenger (FLP) Office, and Florida's Metropolitan Planning Organizations.

 

Provide policy directions for the Shared Use Non-motorized trail (SUN Trail) program development and stakeholder outreach. Coordinate with Districts and Program Offices.
