This position will be responsible for providing System Performance Measures, Trends and Conditions.

 Your Specific Responsibilities:

Supervise employees spending majority of the time communicating with, motivating, training and evaluating employees, and planning and directing employees’ work. Manage and direct the development and analysis of statistics, measurements, and trend data to create informational products and/or tools that support the Planning Team’s efforts to prepare the Florida Department of Transportation for near and long term economic, social, technological, and land development changes. Key information points for analysis include, but are not limited to, public survey information, multimodal performance and utilization measures, macroeconomic and demographic statistics, such as census data, and continuous review of timely sources for emerging issues

Supervise, manage, and direct coordination and training activities for customers throughout the Florida Department of Transportation to ensure the tools, products and services provided by the Trends and Emerging Transportation section are utilized to maximum benefit. Coordination activities include growing the customer base for products and services and creating feedback loop mechanisms where tools and products are augmented as customer needs change.

 

Develop, track, and maintain multi modal transportation performance measure data and information for use by department management in prioritizing transportation needs into programs and projects. This includes providing transportation data analysis needed by other offices, including the Office of Policy Planning for the Florida Transportation Plan, and the Systems Implementation Office for improvements to the Strategic Intermodal System. 

 

Provide quality assurance services to customers throughout the department when assessing the quality or value of statistics, measurements and trend data that is utilized by state, local and federal partners.

 

The Successful Candidate will have the following required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

Knowledge of:

  • Knowledge of the transportation planning process
  • Knowledge of performance measure development and validation processes.

 

Skills in:

  • Skill in verbal communication with individuals and groups.
  • Skill in management of professional staff, both department and consultant.

 

Ability to:

  • Ability to interpret and apply transportation regulations, both at the federal and state levels.
  • Ability to interpret and apply transportation regulations.
