What Will I Be Doing?

This position works directly with the Communications Director to facilitate marketing campaigns for the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV).  The communications campaigns are designed to relay important information to targeted markets, the general public, and other partners of FLHSMV concerning department initiatives and public safety campaigns.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience facilitating and/or managing public awareness campaigns, communicating with members of the public, and developing marketing plans;
  • Florida Certified Contract Manager;
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marketing or Communications (or) experience as a Marketing Manager.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with others in writing as indicated by the needs of the audience, talk to others to effectively convey information, and listening to what other people are saying and ask questions as appropriate.
  • Knowledge of how to find information and identify essential information.
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services including needs assessment techniques, quality service standards, alternative delivery systems, and customer satisfaction evaluation techniques.
  • Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political process.
  • Ability to search for ways to help people.
  • Ability to analyze data and/or information and make recommendations for improvement.

 

Special Note:

This position requires the incumbent to have a high school diploma or its equivalent (GED).  A copy of the diploma or GED must be provided at time of interview.

 

General Information

The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.

HSMV employees are paid once a month on the last workday of each month.  All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes.
