Duties and Responsibilities
This position is in the Bureau of Motorist Compliance’s Medical Imaging & Correspondence unit and is responsible for creating a safer Florida by responding to high volume telephone inquiries from the public and field offices. Furthermore, this position is responsible for researching and investigating complex driver issues by consulting with other person, agencies, facilities, and organizations, as well as internal agency employees to resolve complex issues.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Skill in using a personal computer to include Microsoft Office products.
- Skill in using Medical Expert, DL Maintenance and Motorist Maintenance.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service.
- Ability to find information and identify essential information.
- Ability to listen and ask questions when appropriate.
- Ability to utilize problem solving techniques.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Skill in answering multi-line phone system.
- Knowledge of Driver License and Motor Vehicles laws, policies and procedures.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to applicants with the following experience:
- Using Microsoft Word to create written correspondence
- Handling escalated phone calls and/or customer inquiries
- Analyzing and researching data for accuracy and compliance
- Working in a call center
- Compiling and preparing reports
- Reviewing driver records
General Information
- The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.
- Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI.
- HSMV employees are paid once a month on the last workday of each month. All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes.
