Duties and Responsibilities

This position works with customers, external organizations and others to explain driver improvement and financial responsibility laws and statutes. This position assists customers by researching, evaluating and processing driver improvement and financial responsibility documents and fees in order to clear or impose sanctions on driver records.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to apply rules, regulations, policies and office procedures.
  • Drafting written correspondence.
  • Interpreting policies, procedures, laws, rules and regulations.
  • Working with confidential materials and/or information.
  • Using systems such as Florida Driver License Information System (FDLIS), Motorist Maintenance (MM), Driver License (DL) Maintenance and/or Florida Real-Time Vehicle Information System (FRVIS), (CRS) Cashier Receipt System.
  • Operating office equipment (i.e.: personal computer, copier, fax, multi-line telephone, printer, scanner, and calculator).
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Ability to operate general office equipment.
  • Ability to verify data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ability to make decisions and work independently.
  • Ability to research, evaluate and resolve customer issues and other problems.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Ability to adjust to changing workloads and priorities.
  • Knowledge of basic arithmetic.

 

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with the following:

  • Customer service experience.
  • Experience and/or knowledge, skills and abilities in Microsoft Office Word and/or Outlook.
  • Experience researching, reviewing, evaluating and/or analyzing information for accuracy.

 

General Information

  • The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.
  • Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI.  Fingerprints and associated information/biometrics will be retained in the FBI’s Next Generation Identification (NGI) system and fingerprints may continue to be compared against fingerprints submitted to or retained by NGI.
