Duties and Responsibilities
The Compliance Officer position provides operational support to the Driving Under the Influence (DUI) and Ignition Interlock Device (IID) sections and the licensed DUI programs. Responsibilities include handling all DUI and IID inquiries from internal and external customers related to in and out-of-state DUI course/treatment enrollments and completions via phone, fax and/or email; ensuring that customers’ driver records are updated with the correct information; collecting, compiling and submitting end-of-month statistics for the DUI & IID sections; creating and maintaining DUI program files for the section staff; and receiving change notices from the DUI programs and notifying staff of the change. We are looking for applicants who have excellent communication skills; the ability to effectively manage time and multi-task; attention to detail; and experience in interpreting state and federal laws, particularly regarding DUI and/or IID issues. Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with the following:

  • Using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Providing customer service
  • Using departmental databases such as Florida Driver License Information System (FDLIS), Capture or Motorist Maintenance
  • Operating office equipment to include a multi-line telephone, copier and scanner
  • Reviewing and verifying information, and performing research or investigating
  • Interpreting and applying rules, regulations, laws, policies and procedures
  • Experience in a DUI and/or IID program area
  • Performing data entry, drafting correspondence such as letters, memorandums and/or emails
  • Maintaining files and/or recordkeeping
  • Can read, write and speak Spanish

 

General Information

  • The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.
  • Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI. Fingerprints and associated information/biometrics will be retained in the FBI’s Next Generation Identification (NGI) system and fingerprints may continue to be compared against fingerprints submitted to or retained by NGI.
  • FLHSMV employees are paid once a month on the last workday of each month. All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes.
