Duties and Responsibilities
The Planning Consultant provides high level operational, technical and administrative support to the Bureau of Records, Chief’s Office and the three supporting Programs: Crash and Systems Support, Uniform Traffic Citations and Field Support, and Public Records.This position is responsible for providing program support, researching, analyzing and compiling data for special projects and programming requirements; evaluating, modifying and enhancing customer service standards.This position will provide coordination for system related planning for current and future requirements of Motorist Maintenance, Driver and Vehicle Information Database (DAVID) system and other bureau-related systems to include data batch processes.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Sharepoint and Tableau
- Ability to be flexible in daily scheduling and tasking
- Knowledge of basic office processing
- Knowledge of Florida Traffic Law and Division Policy and Procedures
- Ability to analyze and evaluate office processing workflow
- Ability to correctly interpret the Florida Driver License Record
- Ability to supervise, train, and instruct personnel on use of established agency systems such as DAVID and Crash database.
- Ability to write business requirements (Work Request and Prioritization aka WRAPS) for system enhancements, bugs, and maintenance.
- Ability to conduct legislative analysis to identify legislative programmatic needs
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with the following:
- Experience relating to Tableau, Online Registration and Identify Operating Network (ORION), Motorist Maintenance, DAVID, BluePrint, and writing and interpreting SQL queries.
- Experience analyzing and mapping business processes, recommending business process flow improvements and producing business requirements
- Experience coordinating complex assignments requiring the collaboration of multiple individuals and programs
- Experience using enterprise data to answer complex questions, provide process measurement, or product evaluation
General Information
- The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.
- Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI. - FLHSMV employees are paid once a month on the last workday of each month. All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes.
