Duties and Responsibilities

As an MS Business Consultant I, you will serve as a liaison of the Department to all Driving Under the Influence (DUI) programs and Ignition Interlock Device (IID) vendors. This position is responsible for assisting with reviewing and approving applications from parties interested in becoming a local DUI program or a statewide IID vendor in accordance with state statute, rules and FLHSMV policies and procedures. The incumbent in this position will assist in monitoring all laws, rules and regulations regarding Florida DUI programs and IID sections. This position is also responsible for the analysis, preparation and dissemination of reports within both the DUI and IID program areas.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of FL Statutes and the use of ORION, DAVID, Client Data System (CDS), CCIS, OnBase, and CSC Expert.
  • Knowledge of proofreading techniques, documenting information, and drafting letters/memos/reports.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office programs Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Skilled in the use of office machinery (fax, copiers, scanners, printers, computers) and a multi-line telephone, establishing and maintaining customer files and records.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others.
  • Ability to research, organize and analyze data.
  • Ability in prioritizing tasks, multi-tasking and performing assigned duties without direct supervision.

 

Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with the following:

  • Associates’ degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience conducting quality assurance reviews, developing improvement plans or making recommendations for corrective action. 
  • Knowledge, skill or experience in mental health services, substance abuse services and/or counseling.
  • Knowledge of the DUI and Ignition Interlock system.
  • Ability to read driver license records.
  • Professional work experience performing customer service duties, including handling complaints. 
  • Bilingual (speak, read, and write another language).

 

General Information

  • The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.
  • Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI.  Fingerprints and associated information/biometrics will be retained in the FBI’s Next Generation Identification (NGI) system and fingerprints may continue to be compared against fingerprints submitted to or retained by NGI.
