Duties and Responsibilities
This position reports directly to the Operations Manager and is responsible for the auditing of specialty license plate and voluntary contribution organizations to include annual reviews and research of audit submission, ensuring organizations are meeting their statutory requirements, and determining necessary withholding or restoring of funds. The Business Consultant I will develop a solid working knowledge of Florida Statutes sections 320.08058, 320.08062, 320.08056, 320.023, and work closely with the Office of Inspector General and Accounting Staff. The Business Consultant I will be responsible for sending correspondences and tracking audit information using Microsoft Excel, as well as providing audit information to internal and external stakeholders.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Skilled in the use of Adobe Reader and Acrobat.
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Software (Word, Excel Spreadsheet, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Experience in understanding, interpreting, and applying Florida Statutes, rules, regulations, policies and procedures to determine compliance.
- Experience in reviewing reports, conducting research, identifying problems and formulating a resolution.
- Experience with monitoring and tracking financial information.
- Ability to prepare weekly and monthly reports.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing professionally.
- Strong customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to applicants who have professional work experience:
- Understanding, interpreting, and applying Florida Statutes, rules, regulations, policies and procedures to determine compliance with state funds.
- Monitoring and tracking state funds.
- Collecting, reviewing, verifying, and analyzing data and reports.
Job Related Requirements
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Overnight travel is required.
