SPECIAL NOTES:

Four (4) years of experience in Computer Science or Information Technology related field such as Cybersecurity, Programming or Engineering is required. A bachelor’s degree in computer science or Information Technology related field such as Cybersecurity, Programming, or a related field OR an associate degree in Computer Science or Information Technology related field such as Cybersecurity, Programming or Engineering and (2) years of the required experience may be used as an alternative for the years of required experience.

 

Additional requirements:

  • Experience managing NetApp storage systems and a solid understanding of SAN and NAS technologies, architectures, storage virtualization, and data replication technologies.
  • Previous experience in project management and team leadership is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery solutions such as Commvault or similar data protection and management software.
  • Basic knowledge of operating systems including Windows, Unix, Linux, and/or Solaris.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot storage and IT infrastructure issues.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in English.

Preference:

  • NetApp Certifications desired: Certified Data Administrator, Certified Storage Installation Engineer, and/or Certified Support Engineer.

Background check and fingerprinting is required.

 

This position may be required to occasionally perform duties other than those listed on the position description.

 

Salary Range: $100,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year.

 

Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of NetApp storage solutions, including NetApp ONTAP, FAS, AFF series, and associated software.
  • Knowledge of storage protocols such as NFS, CIFS, iSCSI, and Fiber-Channel.
  • Knowledge of SAN/NAS architectures, storage virtualization, and data replication technologies.
  • Knowledge of data protection and information management strategies: Backup and recovery, cloud data management, and data security.
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery principles which includes enabling the recovery or continuation of vital technology infrastructure and systems.
  • Knowledge of storage industry standards.
  • Knowledge of storage management and monitoring systems for storage performance monitoring, capacity monitoring, health monitoring, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of an enterprise job scheduling and workload automation system.
  • Ability to conduct capacity planning assessments and recommend upgrades or expansions when needed.
  • Ability to perform monitoring, capacity planning, and troubleshooting of storage systems.
  • Ability to problem solve and diagnose complex technical issues.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate across teams.
  • Ability developing teams and mentoring and retaining staff. 
  • Ability to direct a team in problem resolution and implementation of corrective action.
  • Ability to develop various management reports including writing technical data processing reports.
  • Ability to direct feasibility and cost analysis studies.
  • Ability to interpret technical information relating to computer programming and other areas of data processing.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

This position primarily focuses on supervision, managing the Storage, Open Systems, Job Scheduling Infrastructure Support Services teams. Responsibilities include setting annual performance expectations and evaluations, selecting qualified individuals to fill vacancies, reviewing, and approving timesheets, taking corrective or disciplinary action, and providing regular feedback. The role involves communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating employees, as well as planning and directing their work. It also requires recommending actions such as hiring, transferring, suspending, laying off, recalling, promoting, discharging, assigning, rewarding, or disciplining subordinate employees.
