JOB DESCRIPTION:

This is a highly responsible, professional work requiring a substantial degree of independent activity to both oversee and support complex programs for the Division of Early Learning (DEL). The employee is expected to demonstrate knowledge, skills, and ability to prepare, provide, and deliver quality work products representative of the Department’s commitment to quality, efficient services and practices. Where applicable, the employee will demonstrate quality document preparation and dissemination evidenced by accuracy, correct grammar and format, appropriate content, proper approvals and timeliness.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

(Note: The omission of specific job duties does not preclude management from assigning specific duties not listed herein if such duties are a logical assignment to the position.)

The Florida Department of Education (FDOE) has an open position that is responsible for executing the following functions:

 

  • Provide application support to online School Readiness and Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten Division of Early Learning applications and provide assistance to all end users and identify any issues in production.
  • Document and resolve all applications issues and answer all requests.
  • Monitor all performance metrics for various production systems and work with the production support team to identify root causes for all technical issues and recommend solutions.
  • Act as knowledge base for internal partners for production base platform (sometimes in support of tickets, testing and developing requirements for new development).
  • Assist in troubleshooting production support ticket items.
  • Maintain ongoing lists of tickets for multiple clients and answer/resolve/escalate tickets as needed.
  • Act as a Business Analyst for production support issues and improvements.
  • Provide release support for new applications including participating in testing - at the story level, UAT and regression.
  • Provide story/bug identification and gather requirements to determine bug fixes and resolve issues.
  • Create and maintain end user documentation.

Manage tickets within the ticketing system, including providing notes with status updates within the ticketing system.

 

Act as desktop support for the Division of Early Learning.

 

Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.

 

Preference will be given to applicants with experience using the following:

  • Azure DevOps
  • Writing basic SQL queries

LEAVE INFORMATION:

    • Annual Leave - All full-time Career Service employees filling established positions earn annual leave in varying increments dependent upon years of creditable service. Employees with up to 5 years of creditable service earn 8.667 hours per month, with 5 to 10 years earn 10.833 hours per month and those with over 10 years of service earn 13 hours per month. Employees in Senior Management Service and Selected Exempt Service positions are credited with 176 hours of annual leave upon appointment. In subsequent years, the annual allotment is credited on the anniversary date of the initial appointment.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT
