POSITION SUMMARY:
This is a full-time senior level technical position that reports to the Division of Information Technology Services, Bureau of Production Systems Services. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is seeking a candidate to join our Windows System Administration team as a Server Systems Administrator. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the agency’s on-prem and cloud based Active Directory and VMware environments. Candidates must have a thorough working knowledge of the Windows Operating Server System including roles, duties, and daily performance operations. The position also requires excellent facilitation and customer service skills.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific duties include:
- Installing, maintaining, and supporting Windows based servers in FDLE’s 24x7x365 datacenter and agency Azure tenant;
- Installing and supporting VMware virtualization products;
- Supporting FDLE’s Enterprise Backup and Recovery systems;
- Utilizing automation software such as KACE for patch management activities;
- Providing after hours on-call for Windows based server systems;
- Creating and updating of applicable documentation for new and existing Windows based systems; and
- Must be self-motivated as well as being a technical resource for not only WSA but FDLE.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft network operating systems;
- Advanced knowledge of Active Directory including schema and database design;
- Knowledge of SMTP, POP3, MAPI and other protocols related to mail services;
- Knowledge of Security strategies related to Network Operating Systems;
- Knowledge of Anti-virus, content filtering, and anti-spam services;
- Ability to support Internet Information Services;
- Knowledge of Internet Security and Acceleration Server;
- Knowledge of computer operations procedures and systems;
- Knowledge of computer programming languages;
- Understanding of Project Management methodologies;
- Understanding of Application development and integration methods; and
- Ability to prepare program specifications and requirements.
