This is a full-time SES position in the Department of Children and Families, Office of Licensing. This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint and a bachelor’s degree as a condition of employment. Employees of the Department of Children and Families are paid on a bi-weekly pay cycle. Responses to qualifying questions must be clearly supported by the state application and any omission, falsification, or misrepresentation in the answering of the qualifying questions will be cause for immediate elimination from the selection process.
This highly independent analytical position provides administrative oversight of the licensing program within Substance Abuse and Mental Health. The position requires knowledge in the major areas of the program, including licensing, training, systems, background screening, planning and statewide contracting. Specific job-related functions include but are not limited to the following:
Provide overall supervision and leadership for professional staff assigned to the Substance Abuse Mental Health (SAMH) program, including Designations of Baker Act facilities.
Coordinate the training and system components with each of the other major functions within the Office of Licensing- SAMH Program, including internal and external program liaisons, training, budget, and contracts.
Management oversight for the promulgation of administrative rules for licensing/training for SAMH Licensing. Develops and reviews program policy, administrative rules, and program guidelines to ensure effective delivery of client services and compliance with statutory requirements.
Provides consultation and technical assistance to ensure proper interpretation and implementation of legislation, administrative rules, policies, and procedures. Management oversight for the design and implementation of statewide policy training courses.
Represents the department before various advisory councils, work groups or task forces relating to SAMH Licensing Program. Serves as the liaison with other state agencies for development and implementation of inter-program licensing/training for state and federal laws relative to SAMH Licensure.
Takes lead on special projects/assignments to include issue briefs, research, program efficiencies, and other special assignments as requested.
Participates on the Office of Licensing Program and Policy team to develop program goals, initiatives and promote communication and transparency within the program statewide.
