The Florida Department of Health, Division of Medical Quality Assurance (MQA) serves the public by licensing qualified health care providers, enforcing standards among licensees and facilities, and informing licensees and the public.

The Bureau of Health Care Practitioner Regulation is responsible for the policy making and programmatic activities related to licensure of health care practitioners and regulated facilities. The Bureau is comprised of a bureau chief and eight offices under the supervision of executive directors. The board offices credential and license designated health care practitioners. Duties and Responsibilities:

This is a highly responsible professional position that provides management consulting services for improving the operational procedures and management capabilities under the direction of the Chief of General Operations in the Bureau of Health Care Practitioner Regulation (HCPR).

The incumbent will be responsible for high level research projects and will perform statistical, trend, and data analysis for the Bureau; use skilled decision-making techniques in evaluation, planning, and integrating analysis of the data to formulate solutions and strategies; develops alternative recommendations, solves problems, documents work flow and other activities relating to the improvement of management practices; makes recommendations to the Bureau Chief to improve management capabilities; and assist in the development and preparation of legislative and budget issues. The incumbent also assists with mentoring mid-level management, quality assurance and rapid process improvement initiatives throughout the Bureau.

The incumbent directly supervises the HCPR human resources liaison and will be responsible for overseeing recruiting and training efforts for the bureau.

The incumbent leads board offices assigned to data analytical projects; keeps management apprised of the overall project performances (i.e., staffing or resource needs, completion dates, changes/delays in scheduling, etc.) and distributes and reviews project specific work produced by board offices.

Your familiarity with the institution of health care and ability to ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and laws makes you a competitive candidate for this role within health care regulation.

 

This position is required to work emergency duty, in preparation for, during, and as a result of, a catastrophic or natural disaster.
