This is a full-time, in-office position.
Your Specific Responsibilities:
The incumbent in this position is responsible for assisting the registered pharmacists in the performance of their legal responsibilities and authority as outlined in the Florida Pharmacy Law, (Chapter 465, Florida Statutes) and in Central Pharmacy's Nurse & Physician Issuance Programs (Repack) for participating CHD's or other entities. Incumbent must obtain a pharmacy technician certification, issued by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board, within three months of job appointment. The duties included in this position are related to the preparation of County Health orders for prepackaged products containing the product name, strength, quantity. Incumbents may be required to work during or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. Emergency duty required of the incumbent includes working in special needs or Red Cross shelters, or to perform other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural.
The incumbent is responsible for repackaging bulk product ordered from Central Pharmacy’s Warehouse into specific units of issue by use of an automated tablet dispenser or manual count; prepares appropriate labels indicating: medication name, strength, manufacturer, lot number, expiration date, and DOH control number lot number; stores product in specific area after quality check has been verified and completed by a Full Time Licensed Pharmacist; prepares daily County Health Department Nurse Issuance orders and prepares orders for shipment; ensures correctness of CHD shipping labels. Incumbent has a full time Certified Pharmacy Tech to assist in the process of dispensing, pulling, shipping and repack orders and Pharmaceutical Drugs in the Nurse Issuance Program. Incumbent can assist Pharmacist in Central Pharmacy with data entry, labeling, filling and shipping prescription drugs to the CHDs.
Prepares Supply Requisition Warehouse orders to maintain a one month supply of drug inventory; forwards Supply Request orders to the Pharmacy Manager for review/approval; prepares warehouse product for receipt and verification of the product ordered against product received; responsible for ensuring acceptable dating of product delivered and manufacturer lot numbers prior to quality control verification process; conducts a monthly inventory for inspection of shelf item expiration dates; prepares paperwork as required for inventory product removal/transfer.
Manages and maintains the unit's logbooks and record log sheets for Nurse & Physician Issuance; ensures equipment, utensils, clean room and work area are properly cleaned after each use and is maintained clean at all times; responsible for the program's CHD orders and warehouse received orders filing systems; prepares and forwards monthly excel reports for the issuance of CHD product ordered; average product monthly usage reports; monthly CHD performance measure spreadsheets. Forwards reports to the Pharmacy Manager review; ensure supply inventory levels are sufficient at all times for such items as; labels, vials, caps, gloves, printer ribbon, bags, boxes, packing material and other required office supplies, etc. Assists in Central Pharmacy's monthly inventory.
Responsible for developing and submitting reports for management review that include, but not limited to, daily status reports, weekly reports, and inventory reports; develops strategic plans for space and work force management, assigns and directs the responsibility of inspections and organization of the facility’s areas for space utilization, cleanliness and safety standards
Responsible for consulting with internal/external strategic partners and customers as primary liaison partners to report issues, provide resolutions and coordinate acceptable levels of customer service; develops and implements for corrective actions for production efficiencies.
Participates in developing, revising, and implementing internal operational procedures; develops process maps and trend analysis.
Performs other duties as requested.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Microsoft Word, Excel and People First.
Qualifications: Renewal of Florida Pharmacy Technician Registration license every 2 years. The incumbent shall obtain and maintain yearly certification of Good Manufacturing Practices Training.
