Duties and Responsibilities
The Operations Manager A-SES is responsible for the direct supervision of three HSMV Assistant Section Supervisor positions and two Senior Highway Safety Specialists.  The incumbent of this position is responsible for the oversight of daily office operations of the Driver Responsibility Section, ensuring the section is meeting all specific service standards, auditing and analyzing policies and procedures, conducting process improvements, and resolving administrative and operational issues.  

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
•    Knowledge of basic management principles and practices.
•    Skill in communicating effectively, verbally and in writing.
•    Knowledge of David, Motorist Maintenance, DL Maintenance, FDLIS, and FRVIS.
•    Ability to collect, analyze data and prepare summary reports.
•    Ability to research problems, develop solutions, and communicate findings.
•    Skill in using personal computers, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook. 
•    Ability to track and monitor work assignments.
•    Ability to establish effective working relationships with others.
•    Ability to effectively supervise subordinates.
•    Knowledge of Florida Statutes regarding Motorist Services policies and procedures.
•    Knowledge of supervisory principles and personnel/hiring processes.

 

Preferred Qualifications:
•    Experience in a supervisory, team lead, and/or management position.
•    Experience assisting or assessing operational needs and performing process improvements.
•    Experience in analyzing, interpreting, and understanding Florida Statutes.

 

General Information
•    The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.
