WORKING TITLE: OPERATIONS MANAGER C
This open competitive advertisement is for a SES (Selected Exempt Service) position located at Central Office in Tallahassee, FL, in the Office of Programs and Re-Entry within the Bureau of Re-Entry and Transition Services.
The mission of Programs and Re-Entry at the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) is to provide comprehensive rehabilitative programs and services that prepare inmates for successful reintegration into society.
This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.
JOB DUTIES:
- Re-Entry Program Management: Assist in the operational and administrative functions for inmate re-entry and transition services, including in-prison, pre-release, and post-release programs.
- Program Monitoring and Efficiency: Ensure the efficient delivery and functionality of all re-entry and transition services programs, providing oversight and technical support to staff.
- Monitor and Evaluate Program Delivery: Monitor and ensure the efficient and fully functional operation of all in-prison, pre-release, and post-release re-entry and transition services programs.
- Provide Technical Support and Training: Deliver expert technical support, assistance, and training to staff regarding program procedures and requirements.
- Leadership in Budget and Legislative Processes: Lead the preparation of budget requests, legislative proposals, and bill analysis, ensuring programs operate within budget and comply with regulations.
- Program Evaluation and Improvement: Review and standardize re-entry program protocols, assess inmate needs, and make recommendations for program improvements to maximize successful re-entry and reduce recidivism.
- Volunteer and Staff Supervision: Provide guidance for volunteer recruitment, training, and supervision, and direct and supervise employees to ensure effective program delivery.
- Provide Executive Support: Assist the Bureau Chief of Re-Entry and Transition Services with various high-level administrative and operational functions within the Bureau.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must possess two (2) years of experience in re-entry and/or transition services?
- Must possess two (2) years of administrative experience supervising staff?

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT
The Florida Department of Corrections requires all job applicants and volunteers to pass a Level 2 background check as per Chapter 435, Florida Statutes. This check must be completed before they can start working or volunteering.
