Our Organization and Mission:

The Florida Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco licenses the manufacture, distribution, sale, and service of alcoholic beverage and tobacco products in Florida, including receipt and processing of license applications; collection and auditing of taxes and fees paid by licensees; and enforcement of the laws and regulation of the alcoholic beverage and tobacco industries, pursuant to Chapters 210, 561-565, 567-569, Florida Statutes. The division's three bureaus - Licensing, Auditing and Enforcement - comprise a team of approximately 325 personnel fulfilling the regulatory obligations of the division throughout the state.


The Work You Will Do:

This is a Career Service technical professional position assigned to the Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco, Director’s Office.  This position will be coordinating division activities, including public records function, licensing modernization initiatives, special project, and efforts to improve division efficiency in support of the division’s legislatively mandated responsibilities.  The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing guidance to management and division staff on public records matters.
  • Develops and distributes reports and project updates related to division special projects and licensing modernization initiatives.
  • Coordinates and supports division operational processes by initiating, monitoring, and closing system-based activities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of Microsoft programs. Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis. Knowledge of basic management principles and practices, including the ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document workflow and other activities relating to the improvement of management practices.  Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials.  Ability to conduct fact-finding research, ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.  Ability to work independently, as well as to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.  Ability to communicate effectively.  Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.


Minimum Requirements
: 

  • Must have experience researching and communicating policies, procedures, statues, rules, etc.
  • Must have experience providing excellent public service, accurate information, and specific guidance to internal and external customers. 
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Preference will be given to candidates that demonstrate competencies essential to successful performance in the position, which include:

 

  • Experience reviewing thoroughly all tasks and supporting documents.
  • Experience working with confidential records while maintaining information relating to confidential matters assigned.
  • Proficiency with problem-solving, including the ability to identify issues and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Possessing strong interpersonal skills.
  • Communicating clearly in writing and orally.
  • Prioritizing and planning work activities.
  • Independently monitoring work for quality and timeliness.
