This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Central Office in the Bureau of Contract Management and Monitoring.
The mission of the Office of Administration at the Florida Department of Corrections is to provide efficient and effective administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the department. This includes managing financial resources, human resources, procurement, and other essential administrative functions. The office aims to enhance organizational performance, ensure compliance with policies and regulations, and support the overall mission of the department in maintaining public safety and promoting successful offender rehabilitation.
This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.
JOB DUTIES:
- Lead the way in identifying and implementing process improvements to boost efficiency and performance. Work closely with the BCMM Chief and management to ensure projects align with business goals and deliver effective solutions.
- Analyze workflows to find areas for improvement, develop strategies to streamline operations, and eliminate bottlenecks. Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize requirements and ensure smooth implementation of new processes.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the success of improvements, collect and analyze data to identify trends, and measure the impact of changes. Create reports, business plans, and presentations to effectively communicate initiatives.
- Provide back-up support for contract management and monitoring activities. Work with various departments to develop scopes of work, validate customer needs, and ensure contract requirements are met. Conduct meetings with contractors and program areas as needed.
- Monitor contract progress and performance, review operational and contract documents, and address any non-compliance issues. Manage contract budgets, validate payments, and ensure sufficient funds are available. Reconcile expenditure information, maintain records, and document changes to contracts. Conduct detailed assessments of contract statuses and develop reports using Microsoft Office tools. Identify lessons learned and make recommendations for contract improvements.
- Handle diverse administrative tasks, maintain knowledge of industry standards, and ensure compliance with procurement and contracting policies.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and Outlook).
- Three (3) years of contract management experience. Postsecondary education may substitute for up to 1 year of the required experience.
- Possess’ a current Florida Certified Contract Manager or able to obtain the certification within six months of employment.
- At least two years of experience working in MyFloridaMarketPlace creating requisitions and paying invoices.
- At least one year of experience with Works to process, reconcile, or approve p-card transactions.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience supervising and directing the work of others.
- Project management experience.
- Collecting, organizing, and analyzing data for leadership decisions.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, marketing, human resources, or psychology.
Support of knowledge, skills, and abilities should be demonstrated on the application, in the education, in the work experience, in the work sample, in the interview and/or during reference checks.
