WORKING TITLE: OPERATIONS REVIEW SPECIALIST
This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Central Office in Tallahassee, FL, in the General Services department.
The mission of the General Services Department in the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) is to provide efficient and effective support services that ensure the smooth operation of the Department.
This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.
JOB DUTIES:
- Parking Administration: Manage FDMS parking contracts for Central Office employees, contractors, and fleet vehicles, including contract creation, cancellations, and parking placard distribution, while serving as the primary contact for parking-related issues.
- Security Badge Management: Oversee the production and management of Central Office security badges, ensuring compliance with background screenings, managing access to secure areas, and maintaining security badge systems and video feeds.
- Fingerprinting Services: Perform LiveScan fingerprinting for new employees and contractors, maintain fingerprinting equipment, and coordinate appointments for fingerprinting services.
- Building Maintenance Coordination: Act as the main contact for building maintenance and custodial needs, submitting work orders, addressing repair requests, and escalating hazardous conditions to management.
- Procurement and Purchasing: Handle purchases through MFMP, manage purchasing card transactions, and oversee procurement for General Services, including courier services, recycling, and office supplies.
- Emergency Preparedness: Serve as the Evacuation Commander, ensuring compliance with Department Procedure 205.022 and overseeing emergency response protocols.
- Mailroom and Records Oversight: Supervise mail sorting and distribution, manage the weekly shredding program, and oversee the retrieval and organization of inmate records and daily mailroom operations.
- Team Coordination and Support: Coordinates the activities of Operations Analyst and Government Operations Consultant.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
- Must have one (1) year experience in facilities management, security administration, or a related field.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) with a minimum of one (1) year experience using it.
- Must have the ability to perform physical tasks related to fingerprinting and badge management.
- Must be a current Florida Certified Contract Manager (FCCM).
- Must have the ability to handle emergency situations and act as the Evacuation Commander.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Familiarity with security systems and equipment, including badge access control and video monitoring systems.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or lead worker role.
Support of knowledge, skills, and abilities should be demonstrated on the application, in the education, in the work experience, in the work sample, in the interview and/or during reference checks.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT
The Florida Department of Corrections requires all job applicants and volunteers to pass a Level 2 background check as per Chapter 435, Florida Statutes. This check must be completed before they can start working or volunteering.
