This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Central Office in Tallahassee, FL in the Office of Human Resources.

The mission statement of the Office of Human Resources in the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) is to provide comprehensive human resource services that support the department's goals by recruiting, developing, and retaining a qualified and diverse workforce, promoting employee well-being, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and policies.

This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

 

JOB DUTIES:

  • Drive the development, implementation, and evaluation of innovative computer-based and classroom training programs across the Department.
  • Transform traditional training materials into engaging web-based content using cutting-edge tools like Articulate, Co-Pilot, and PowerPoint.
  • Provide expert technical support and training on advanced learning management systems specifically, Cornerstone.
  • Lead the creation of comprehensive electronic courses, from storyboarding and scripting to graphic design and multimedia editing.
  • Collaborate with Department entities to enhance training development and delivery, offering strategic recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and evaluate technology-based training effectiveness through onsite visits and detailed reporting.
  • Oversee and mentor a dynamic team of curriculum developers, ensuring high-quality content for online learning environments.
  • Spearhead large-scale training sessions for trainers, empowering them to excel within the Department’s Learning Management System.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT

The Florida Department of Corrections requires all job applicants and volunteers to pass a Level 2 background check as per Chapter 435, Florida Statutes. This check must be completed before they can start working or volunteering.
