Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years of professional or nonprofessional accounting or bookkeeping experience or,
  • College education from an accredited institution can substitute at the rate of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours for each year of required work experience, which includes two courses in accounting, business, or finance, or a combination of the above work experience and college education.

 

Requirements:

Employment in this position is contingent upon a satisfactory criminal history check (fingerprint-based) in accordance with Chapter 435, Florida Statutes.

Office hours are from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, Monday through Friday. Not eligible for Telework.

Position Overview and Responsibilities:

This position is part of the Revenue Section and is responsible for the following:

 

Daily Operation:

  • Open, prepare, and scan all incoming mail.
  • Prepare and scan completed deposits.
  • Upload financial records to Laserfiche.
  • Generate transmittals for checks received.
  • Data entry of deposits.
  • Examine scanned documentation to ensure clarity and accuracy.
  • The incumbent will be required to complete training and attain proficiency in the Florida PALM accounting system to effectively fulfill the responsibilities of this position.

Other Duties:

  • Run prior month-end FLAIR RDS reports and post to the SharePoint site.
  • Prepare documentation for new Escrow accounts.
  • Prepare documentation for Refund requests.
  • Monitor and follow up on Debit memos.
  • Maintain physical and electronic files.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge in using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Pro
  • Possess good customer service, telephone, and clerical skills
  • Knowledge of Chapter 215.422, F.S. – The Prompt Payment Law
  • Ability to prepare and maintain a variety of accounting records.
  • Ability to analyze, research, report and interpret accounting data.
  • Ability to understand and apply the appropriate rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to an accounting program.
  • Ability to work independently, and to solve problems and make decisions.
  • Ability to handle detailed work activities and assignments within a complex automated accounting system.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to act on changing priorities and responsibilities
  • Ability to organize documents
