The Work You Will Do:

The OPS Clerk Specialist will provide support for the Rural Area of Opportunity Tax Exempt Goods and Services Sales Tax Refund Program under the purview of the Florida Department of Commerce’s Division of Economic Development.

Your Specific Responsibilities:

The OPS Clerk Specialist will provide support for the Rural Area of Opportunity Tax Exempt Goods and Services Sales Tax Refund Program under the purview of the Florida Department of Commerce’s Division of Economic Development.

 

Your Specific Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate program applications to ensure statutory requirements and policy guidelines are met.
  • Track application intake and process status.
  • Manage and monitor data entry within the Salesforce system.
  • Work cooperatively with applicants and provide excellent customer service.
  • Work with rural liaisons and rural community partners.
  • Maintain program records.
  • Other duties and assistance with additional agency programs, as required.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in utilization of computer using Word®, Excel®, PowerPoint®.
  • Ability to understand policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Ability to perform computer-based research activities.
  • Proficiency with oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to manage priorities and meet established deadlines.

 

Qualifications:

 

As a condition of pre-employment eligibility, a Level 2 security background screening is required, which consists of fingerprinting and a check of local, state, and national law enforcement records.
