Class Title: OPS Certified Correctional Officer Compensation: $18.63 Hourly
This is an open advertisement for OPS Certified Correctional Officer (part-time) applicants for Institutions Statewide. OPS Correctional Officers will be limited to no more than 25 ½ hours per week, and must meet the following hiring requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be certified as a Correctional Officer in Florida.
- Must have an active certification in good standing.
- Be at least 18 years of age (no age limit).
- Be a United States Citizen.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must satisfactorily pass a pre-employment drug test and physical examination.
- Must satisfactorily pass a background investigation and fingerprinting, which includes; no felony convictions; no misdemeanor involving perjury or false statement; no misdemeanor conviction of domestic violence.
- Must demonstrate good moral character as determined by a thorough background investigation.
Note: Part-time OPS (24 hours or less) employment is not eligible for personal leave or health benefits.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
This occupation requires certification in accordance with Chapter 943, Florida Statutes, and completion of the Basic Recruit Training Course for Correctional Officers and incumbents must be eligible for or possess a current employment certificate of compliance issued by the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission.
