OPS Distributed Computer Systems Specialist

 

DESCRIPTION

 

The Department of Environmental Protection’s Office of Technology and Information Services is currently recruiting for an OPS Distributed Computer Systems Specialist. This position will work with the web development team to implement a Drupal Content Management System (CMS) and convert existing Internet and Intranet sites into the new CMS.  The incumbent of this position will represent OTIS and must be helpful, cooperative, polite, respectful, and courteous at all times in the interactions with customers.  

 

EXAMPLES OF WORK

 

  • Design, implement and build new web pages and sites using the Drupal CMS.
  • Develop User workflows.
  • Develop Drupal CMS module.
  • Update web pages to ensure site accuracy.
  • Ability to receive, interpret and document complex information and requirements to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Preference will be given to applicants with the following Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

 

  1. Experience with PHP, HTML, CSS, JQUERY, MYSQL.
  2. Drupal CMS development.
  3. A strong understanding of modern web and mobile practices to create and review an efficient user-experience.
  4. Familiarity with cross-browser testing, alternate style sheets.
  5. Working knowledge of Web Server Environments (LAMP, WAMP).
  6. Familiarity with web performance optimization concepts/best practices including caching, CDN, load testing.
  7. Familiarity with Web Accessibility Initiative and other web compliance standards.
  8. Familiarity with version control systems such as Git or Svn.
  9. Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and presentational skills.
  10. Highly logical.
  11. Keen attention to detail.
  12. Highly self-motivated and directed.
  13. Ability to absorb new ideas and concepts quickly.
  14. Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  15. Very strong customer service orientation.
