STARTING SALARY:  $23.30 Hourly (Full-Time OPS - DJJ Operations Coordinator)

DESCRIPTION:

Assist with the managing and coordinating of events, ensuring they are successful and executed to the highest standards. Assist with planning logistics, handling budgets, negotiating with vendors, managing timelines, and overseeing on-site operations.

This position will assist with the oversight and management of contracts, and audio-visual (AV) agreements.  Assist in the promotion and advancement of the Department’s special projects and event planning.

Assist with monitoring activities, events and conferences progress, track the project’s progress, address potential risks, and adjust plans as necessary to achieve goals. 

Providing regular updates to management on project status, challenges, and achievements.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis.

Ability to collect evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document work flow and other activities relating to the improvement of operational and management practices.

Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials.

Ability to conduct fact-finding research.

Ability to utilize problem solving techniques.

Ability to work independently.

Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to operational and management analysis activities.

Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.

Ability to communicate effectively.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Communicate effectively with customers (providers), maintain a positive and collaborative working relationship with co-workers.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.   At least 1 years of experience of project management and/or event planning experience.

A master's degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for one year of the required experience.

Preference will be given to all candidates who possess the following experience:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Development of contractual specifications in conformance with State and Federal laws and agency policies.

Ability to create, understand, and implement a budget.

Planning logistics, handling budgets, negotiating with vendors, managing timelines, and overseeing on-site operations.
