What you will do:

 

Summary

 

The Office of Quality and Innovation serves as the catalyst for ensuring high levels of performance across the state to support a strong workforce and positive outcomes for Florida families. The office seeks collaborative, action-focused, and transparent professionals dedicated to putting quality at the center of serving families.

 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities include:

 

  • Analyzes Department curriculum to ensure all training developed meets the Training Standard Criteria set forth by Workforce Learning and Development as well as statutory and policy requirements.
  • Prepares written reports and presentations based on education and training reviews.
  • Makes recommendations and/or develops and implements quality assurance checklists for evaluating the effectiveness and compliance of training materials.
  • Monitors changes to operating procedures and alert instructional designers when changes in policy impact curriculum.
  • Develops and maintains an internal crosswalk of operating procedures and the curriculums associated to each.
  • Assists with the creation and delivery of training regarding quality assurance standards and provides technical assistance to staff when needed or requested.
  • Communicate to the Curriculum Development Manager how education and training is impacting workforce performance and the extent that educational outcomes are achieved.
  • Facilitate annual review of curriculum and all associated lesson plans with program managers.
  • Participate in the design and testing of review instruments and review approaches.
  • Supports and assigns the credentialing of curriculum developed by ensuring content aligns with the requirements of CEU and CLE credits.
  • Keeps a log of courses that have gone through the quality assurance process and received the Workforce Learning and Development seal of approval.
  • Participate in side-by-side reviews of education and training lessons with internal staff and external partners when assigned.
  • Manage and assist with special projects and assignments.
  • Observes pilot courses and reviews materials when appropriate to ensure necessary changes and revisions are made before statewide implementation.
  • Stay informed of trends in quality assurance relating to training a workforce at large.
  • Maintains a comprehensive database of subject matter experts (SMEs), coordinating with SME’s to support training according to their skillset and level of subject matter expertise.
  • Supports the creation of policy, processes, and tools that guide the Department towards implementing quality assurance reviews prior to training deployment.

 

Qualifications:

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2 years of experience in providing quality assurance for instructional design/curriculum development for a workforce of adult learners
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and Authoring Software such as Articulate.
  • 1-2 years of experience with ongoing, continuous process of monitoring, evaluating, maintaining and enhancing the quality of an education system, institution or programs.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • M.S. in instructional design, curriculum development, or related area preferred over 5 years of experience in instructional design/curriculum development for a workforce.
  • 3-5 years of experience with ongoing, continuous process of monitoring, evaluating, maintaining and enhancing the quality of an education system, institution or programs.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

  • Experience in conducting quality assurance of training, education technology, and instructional systems design.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with all levels of leadership, management, and staff
  • Experience with adult learning theory.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint (Office Suite) and Microsoft Teams are required
  • Excellent skills with Articulate Storyline and design tools such as Canva, InDesign, Photoshop, etc.
  • Capable of working with a high degree of independence, determining work priorities, and ensuring proper completion of work assignments.
  • Exceptional critical thinking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that include the ability to teach, coach and mentor workforce.
  • Passion for learning and improving training programs and learning management system processes.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal, and written.
  • Knowledge of mission and vision of the Department of Children and Families.
  • Understanding of continuous quality improvement processes and integration across programs.
  • Ability to fact-find, identify trends, root causes, and effective practices from data.
  • Proficient in systems-thinking across operational locations, department programs, and government agencies.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to make decisions and recommend solutions.
  • Proficient in collaborating within a cross-functional team.
  • Consistently demonstrate a high level of professionalism in interactions and personal presentation.
  • Demonstrate respect for others and professional interest through speech, nonverbal communication, active listening, and cultural competence.
