Position Overview and Responsibilities:


Responsibilities:
Assist the Environmental Health and Safety section with data tracking, research, review and site visits related to the following:
Asbestos and Lead Materials Document Management
Fuel Storage Tank Management Systems Document Management
Hazardous Waste Management, Transportation, & Disposal Management
Indoor Air Quality Investigations Document Management
Chemical & Hazardous Materials Facility Inventory Management
Stormwater and Reuse Water Management
Records Management

 

Asbestos and Lead Materials:

  • Assist in planning and delivering materials for “Right to Know” meetings with buildings tenants and occupants concerning asbestos and lead projects in their facility.
  • Maintenance, tracking and storage of asbestos and lead documents on SharePoint and assist in development of cloud-based storage catalog.

 

Underground & Above ground Fuel Storage Tank Management Systems:

  • Assist in review of DEP compliance inspections for DMS owned ASTs and USTs.


Hazardous Waste Management, Transportation, & Disposal:

  • Track data and run monthly TRIRIGA reports for the hazardous waste management program.
  • Assist with verification of hazardous waste contractors and maintain an active list of contractors and vendors through MFMP.

 

Indoor Air Quality Investigations & IAQ Prevention Program:

  • Assist with tracking and storage of report documents from IAQ investigations

 

Chemical & Hazardous Materials Facility Inventory Management including MSDS On-Line System Management and Maintenance:

  • Assist in review and evaluation of material safety data sheets (MSDS) and compliance with Florida’s “Right to Know” and Federal Hazard Communication Standard.

 

Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and keep supervisor informed of potential issues:

Experience with computers, including Microsoft SharePoint, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to communicate professionally and effectively both verbally and in writing.

Ability to utilize problem-solving and decision-making skills to reach an acceptable outcome.
Ability to accurately prioritize tasks under pressure to meet deadlines.
Ability to understand and apply applicable State and/or Federal rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to environmental programs and safety management practices. N/A

Prolonged periods of sedentary work which involve repetitive motion.
Additional background screening may be required by tenant agencies based on position assignments or access requirements.
Adheres to safety awareness policies in the workplace, views safety videos when presented and attends required safety meetings.  Practices lessons learned on a daily basis to avoid accidents.
