OPS Government Analyst II - Pending Reclassification

 

Your Specific Responsibilities:

This position is being reclassified to an OPS Government Analyst II position.  The incumbent will serve as a project support analyst for the Systems Information Management Unit, in Children's Medical Services.

This position will provide project support for a Public Health Infrastructure grant-funded initiative website augmentation to facilitate the development of a Children’s Medical Services (CMS) Public Communications Portal.

 

The selected applicant will be able to complete the following examples of work to support this project:

  • Review and edit data use agreements, and facilitate their completion by agency partners.
  • Coordinate with IT and ensure compliance with agency governance requirements.
  • Research, identify key topics, and test functionality of web-integrated applications.  
  • Assist in testing and providing modifications explanations for refinement of new reports and applications. 
  • Assist with drafting, reviewing, and editing of briefing documents for internal and external parties.
  • Schedule and facilitate meetings, including agenda and minutes preparation, to identify key reporting needs for MFC staff and management.
  • Prepare process flow charts and report design documentation to support system developers.
  • Research project requirements and document project business logic. Prepare documentation and briefing reports for technical aspects of the project.
  • Prepare training documentation and deliver training to users as needed.
  • Provide project updates at regular intervals to support required grant tracking and reporting on key deliverables.

  • Conduct data querying and descriptive analyses necessary for data validation, including use of standard techniques for aggregating and cleaning program data from multiple data files and sources.
  • Identify and document incorrect or irrelevant data and work with stakeholders, system users and development team to clean data using either manual or automated methods.
  • Identify areas for data quality improvements and help to resolve data quality problems through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction, process control and improvement, or process design strategies.

Incumbent may be required to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency.

Minimum or Preferred Qualifications:

High School

Valid Driver's License

Experience: Selected applicant must possess a Bachelor's Degree and two  professional years of experience that included either IT-related project management, or performing query-based data retrieval, or completing statistical analyses in health or social sciences. Master's degree can substitute for the years of required experience..

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, Word, and Excel.

Demonstrated education and/or work history in the fields of project management, information technology, website applications, project documentation, or data analysis.

Experience in using SQL or R software. Ability to organize complex information into user-friendly written materials.

Attention to detail and a commitment to excellent internal and external customer service.

Ability to serve in a support role and facilitate creative exchange in a collaborative and technical environment.

Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in written and spoken situations.
