DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This is a highly responsible position that works under the guidance of the Division of Elder Opportunities Director, as a Hope Special Projects Coordinator.
- Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Develop and maintain significant knowledge of Elder Opportunities programs, policies,
- and programmatic requirements.
- Establish, facilitate, or participate in the implementation of new programs. Conducts research of comparable programs nationwide or internationally for effectiveness, potential challenges, and impact of program implementation.
- Assists with the development of policy and procedures; develops plans for and ensures their effective implementation and continuous quality improvement.
- Performs activities to ensure program compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. Provides policy interpretation.
- Develops and deliver training or technical assistance.
- Prepare statistical reports as requested or following prescribed guidelines.
- Advises the Director on statewide operational problems and issues impacting the effectiveness of programs. Make appropriate recommendations.
- Facilitates and participates in inter-agency and intra-agency work groups, meetings, and coordinates information exchange for participants, and identifies subject matter experts as needed to benefit work group.
- Manages all aspects of any Hope – Pathway to Purpose Special Events.
- Research program and service delivery issues for leadership to assist in developing policies, answering legislative requests, and special initiatives.
- Participates in pilot/special projects, which involve collaborative efforts to improve assessment and delivery of services.
- Oversees the Hope Florida – Pathway to Purpose initiative and team within the Department in relation to other sister agencies. Plans, organizes, manages, and participates in conferences, institutes, committees, and other meetings for the promotion of the Hope Florida mission. Analyzes monthly financial status reports, grant summary reports, monthly performance reports, data progress reports, management reports, and other relevant documents to ensure the proper and accurate reporting of bureau financial and programmatic data. Identifying and maintaining a working knowledge of available community resources, in conjunction with the Community Development Administrators and Community Partner Liaisons. Serves as a Hope Navigator and is responsible for helping customers who are in crisis navigate through self-identified barriers, that are preventing them from meeting their immediate needs. The Hope Navigator assists the customer by connecting them to partners and available resources, to address the customer’s immediate needs.
- Document all pertinent information and ensure that all appropriate forms, such as, but not limited to, the assessment and care plan are completed and uploaded into the Unite Us, Hope Client Directory, and Correspondence Tracking data tracking systems accurately and timely. Provides follow-up and monitors connections to service delivery. Preparing correspondence, case notes, narratives, technical reports, notifications, and related documents using computer-based applications.
- Maintains frequent communication with Hope Florida customers, reassesses needs, and completes additional referrals and updates to the care plan if needed. Acting as a Hope Navigator for customers regarding available program services and optional methods of attaining self-sufficiency goals.
- Completes the weekly Executive Office of the Governor (EOG) Hope Report.
- One goal of the Hope Special Projects Coordinator is to seek out community opportunities with diverse civic, public, private, and organizational groups of any size to present educational presentations about Hope Florida Pathway to Purpose, and the role that Hope Heroes serve seniors and their families and caregivers. The Special Projects Coordinator should strive to increase community awareness of how Hope FL Pathway to Purpose can assist individuals.
- The Special Projects Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating disaster deployment efforts statewide and carries out the duties as outlined in the policies of the DOEA Disaster Response Team (DDRT) when activated.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Attendance is an essential function of this position.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Ability to communicate effectively with others, utilizing active listening, information gathering, organizational skills, critical thinking, time management, problem identification, and resolution. Possess strong written and oral communication skills, using correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Detail-oriented and able to enter data accurately into a computerized system.
- Ability to prepare clear, concise, and accurate records, reports, correspondence, and other documentation in a logical format within established timeframes.
- Ability to navigate multiple computer screens, applications, and online research engines. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, FLAIR, OneDrive, SharePoint, Adobe and Adobe Pro, and other internal and external platforms and Department operational systems used in the day-to-day activities of Elder Rights.
- Ability to demonstrate a professional and courteous demeanor. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with the public and staff. Ability to work independently and with teams at the unit and agency where appropriate.
- Ability to review, analyze, and evaluate data and process travel documents.
- Willing and able to make decisions and exercise sound judgment; to accept responsibility for one’s actions and decisions; to adapt to changes in work assignments, procedures, and technology; and to be committed to improving individual performance.
- Willing and able to follow written and oral directions and instructions from management; carry out the directives of people with duly delegated authority; constructively resolve any differences with management; and accept and abide by management’s direction and decisions.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Florida Driver’s License.
- FCCM Certification is preferred.
