The Bureau of Design and Construction (BDC) is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Construction Section to provide assistant project management support for construction projects relating to new state park development, renovation, rehabilitation, and facility repair in North Florida. This position will schedule up to 40 hours per week.

Pay:

Your Specific Responsibilities:
The BDC’s primary customer is the Florida Park Service, recognized for the fourth time as the best state park system in the United States. The BDC is charged with delivering outstanding facilities and infrastructure for all 175 state parks and state trails. Minimal travel may be required.
Duties and responsibilities:
Provide assistant construction project management support to the BDC Construction Projects Consultant and District staff, including, but not limited to:
- Assisting with contract management and administration to ensure fulfillment of contractual obligations of contractors, consulting architects and engineers.
- Providing assistance with the review of technical specifications, bid documents and other similar documents.
- Assisting with project inspections to verify compliance with construction bid documents.
- Preparing and reviewing change orders and other contractual documents for compliance and accuracy.
- Assisting with the review and processing of pay invoices in accordance with Finance and Accounting procedures.
- Maintaining project files in a neatly organized, pre-audit condition.
- Assisting with project tracking, reporting and other communication requirements.
- Participating in special projects and tasks.
- Other similar support tasks.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge in:
- General principles, techniques, materials and equipment utilized in building construction.
- Contract management and administration.
- General administrative concepts.
Skill in:
- Microsoft Office suite.
- Effective communication techniques.
- Planning, organizing and coordinating building construction program activities.
- Problem solving.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationship with others.
- Understanding and applying applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Ability to:
