Duties and Responsibilities:

This position, assigned to the Captive Wildlife Section, and is responsible for the administration of policies and procedures, solving problems, deviations and other captive wildlife permits.    This is a highly focused position which includes the interpretation of state and federal laws relating to the importation/exportation, exhibition, sale, possession, propagation and exploitation of wildlife and aquatic life.  This position also handles administrative duties in Headquarters relative to the operation of the Captive Wildlife Investigations Section on a statewide basis and other duties as assigned. Occasional point of contact for Field Investigators assisting with questions and data research. Oversee issuance of deviation permits to include coordination between internal staff and stakeholders. Assist with reports (legislative, internal and public) and research when needed. Conduct and assist with updates on databases utilized when needed. Drafting and reviewing a variety of correspondence within the section. Reviewing and approving captive wildlife applications. Occasional coordination of captive wildlife denials and revocations of captive wildlife licenses and permits. Assist with conducting and coordinating training and presentations for the Captive Wildlife Section and stakeholders as needed.  Occasional in-state travel may be required.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must have prior customer service experience.
