Position Overview and Responsibilities:

The OPS Government Operations Consultant I (37920069) serves in the Bureau of Design and Construction (BDC), Construction Section. This role provides assistant project management support for construction projects relating to new state park development, renovation, rehabilitation, and facility repair throughout Southwest Florida. The position supports the BDC Construction Projects Consultant through contract management assistance, project documentation review, inspections, tracking, reporting, and other construction‑related administrative functions. This position does not include supervisory responsibility.

 

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge in:

  • General principles, techniques, materials and equipment utilized in building construction.
  • Contract management and administration.
  • General administrative concepts.

 

Skill in:

  • Microsoft Office suite.
  • Effective communication techniques.
  • Planning, organizing and coordinating building construction program activities.
  • Problem solving.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others.
  • Understanding and applying applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

 

Ability to:

  • Manage time effectively.
  • Maintain multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Maintain organized and consistent project files.
  • Work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Provide quality solutions.
  • Maintain a valid driver license.

Minimum Qualifications:

Valid driver license.

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in:

  • Architecture/engineering design, construction, production and/or operations.
  • Construction project management; analyzing and interpreting architecture/engineering data.

 

 

 

Pay:

$17.00 - $20.00 per hour
