Your Specific Responsibilities:

The position will assist with implementation of the Consumer Product Safety Commission pool safely program, to include swim voucher initiative. The position may provide trainings to pool inspectors and pool contractors, regarding laws, codes, and layers of protection. He or she will provide training to county health department staff (public swimming pools), building code enforcement staff (residential swimming pools), and community groups to support training modules and materials that are available online.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

The project manager will possess, at a minimum, the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

• Ability to work independently
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other basic-intermediate computer skills
• Ability to collect, read, and interpret data accurately and completely
• Ability to communicate and present effectively and professionally, to both small and large groups
• Knowledge of state and national regulations regarding swimming pool construction
and maintenance as they relate to water safety and drowning prevention
• Knowledge of the layers of protection to prevent drowning in swimming pools and spas
• Ability to develop methods for monitoring and evaluating quality of service
and compliance with rules, policies, and statutes
• Ability to determine work priorities and ensure proper completion of the work
• Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds
• Knowledge of community resources and organizations related to water safety
and drowning prevention
• Ability to demonstrate cognitive thinking and problem solving

 

Qualifications:

Educational requirements: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; or a high-school diploma with at least four years of related professional experience. Aquatics knowledge and skills are highly recommended.

Travel Requirements: Up to 25% of the time for this position will involve in-state travel and occasional out of state travel.

Hours: This is a full-time position. Normal business hours are 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, although working outside these hours might be required to accommodate travel and presentations.
