Your Specific Responsibilities:
The Florida Department of Health (DOH) is seeking a creative, organized, and motivated individual to become an essential member of the Office of Rural Health (ORH) team.
This role assists theProgram Administrator and the ORH in the coordination and implementation of the State Office of Rural Health (SORH) grant activities. This administrative, technical and consultative position develops and implements the federal SORH Program in Florida.
The SORH Coordinator role oversees the nine Rural Health Network programmatic projects, oversees new programs, and coordinates with rural partners. The role develops and disseminates health resources which includes weekly updates to rural health stakeholders using email/web platforms. This information includes grant opportunities, educational webinars, new resources, policy briefs and technical assistance opportunities. This role is also responsible for developing agendas, coordinating regular meetings, and holding calls with stakeholders.

The successful incumbent will be responsible for the following:
- Assist the Director with annual Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) grant applications and reporting requirements.
- Assist the Director as needed to achieve program goals and objectives for the Office of Rural Health.
- Assist in the development and dissemination of health communication and education tools, including weekly/monthly updates to rural health stakeholders using email and web platforms.
- Regularly update Office of Rural Health webpages; assist in the creation of factsheets, one-pagers, and other relevant communication tools.
- Develop agendas and coordinate regular Teams/Zoom meetings and calls with rural health stakeholders, including small rural hospitals, critical access hospitals, rural health networks, local health planning councils, and area health education centers.
- Assist Director with collaboration efforts among rural partners and technical assistance to small rural hospitals and critical access hospitals.
- Maintains correspondence, reports and other documents for the Office of Rural Health with a tickler system to ensure deadlines are met.
- Assist the Director with collecting and disseminating health-related information, coordinating state rural health resources and activities, and technical assistance.
- Assist the Director with annual Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) grant applications and reporting requirements, and other duties as assigned.
- Assist the Small Rural Hospital Improvement Grant Coordinator in the process of procurement for SORH grant purchases.
- Provide assistance as needed in emergency response to and recovery following natural or man-made disasters.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of public health, public administration, health care or social services.

- Familiarity with graphic design, web content, and communication tools.
Qualifications:
Professional experience in social services, public health, or health care education is preferred.

Travel Time: 1-25%
