POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is in the Bureau of Standards, reporting to the Professional Compliance section. This is a full-time position that provides staff support to the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission as it relates to disciplinary actions against certified officers and instructors. This position requires the ability to work in a detail-oriented environment, effectively manage time to meet competing deadlines, and interpret and apply statutes and rules. This position also requires excellent written and verbal communication skills.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific duties include:
- Receiving and making an independent assessment of disciplinary incident reports to determine if the Commission has jurisdiction over the alleged misconduct, in accordance with the authority contained in FS 943 and/or appropriate administrative rules;
- Evaluating the submission for completeness, and schedule further administrative processes in accordance with time frames mandated by statute and rule;
- Coordinating with the reporting entity as well as other agencies or entities to obtain such additional information as necessary to provide for appropriate disposition of the incident;
- Evaluating and reporting on the status of assigned cases to the Training and Research Manager, ensuring that all time frame requirements are met for all cases;
- Conducting quality control checks on cases as necessary or as directed by the Training and Research Manager;
- Utilizing computerized information systems and intelligence networks to identify and locate witnesses, victims and/or respondents in reference to case preparation for formal hearing;
- Training other case specialists in the efficient use of computer information systems and intelligence networks; and
- Preparing and causing to be served administrative complaints in accordance with the direction received from the Probable Cause Panel.

BASE SALARY:
- $24.76/hour

FDLE requires an extensive background process of all recommended applicants.
