DUTIES:
This position is responsible for assisting in the monitoring of administrative and financial policies and procedures for grant programs of the Division of Law Enforcement.
Provides assistance primarily with grant project activities within the Boating Access Unit that includes developing program rule, guidance, application and administrative forms, notifying eligible participants of program funding, reviewing applications for compliance with policies and rules, preparing grant agreements, monitoring progress of grant funded projects, processing requests for payments to subrecipients, and preparing required reports. Performs other grant program duties and responsibilities as required.
Coordinates with stakeholders within FWC, other state agencies, and subrecipients.
Provides technical assistance to stakeholders as required.
Travel to grant funded project sites to monitor progress, inspect completion of projects and provide technical assistance as required.
Other administrative activities or duties within the Boating Access Unit as required, to include but not limited to assisting with public meetings, creating or revising funding applications and agreements, travel document preparation and review.
Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position:
Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective written and oral communication. Knowledge of administrative principles and practices and proficient in Word and Excel. Knowledge of the methods of data collection. Ability to evaluate and analyze data relating to grants project activities. Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to grants project activities. Ability to develop and organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, proposals and other written documents. Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques. Ability to work independently. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Licensure/registration/certification requirements:
Florida Certified Contract Manager certification within 12 months of hire
Valid Driver's license
Must pass a level 2 background check
